Description
Attachment 1- List of NSNs to be included on this project. This is a follow up to the previous Sources Sought Notice posted in Janaury 2017. A copy of the original posting is listed below. The purpose of this notice is to confirm size of manufacturer for each NSN in order to confirm Set-Asides to be used on this procurement. In addition, the purpose of this notice is to confirm if the items being procured are considered Commercial of a Type. See below for details. The commercial item definition is broad. It embraces any item of a type customarily used by the general public or by nongovernmental entities for purposes other than Government purposes that has been sold, leased, or licensed or offered for sale, lease, or license to the general public. Also included in the commercial item definition is any item that has evolved from a commercial item as described above, through technical/performance advances, even if it is not yet available in the commercial marketplace, as long as it will be available in time to satisfy the Government's requirements. Commercial items do not necessarily have to be "off-the-shelf"; items that merely require modifications of a type customarily available in the commercial marketplace, or else minor Government-unique modifications, can still be considered commercial items. (To qualify as representing a minor modification, the item must retain a predominance of nongovernmental functions or physical characteristics.) Please complete the attached spreadsheet and return to Nicole Byrd ( nicole.byrd@dla.mil ) by 02 June 2017 in order to help this procurement move forward in the acquisition process. Original Post: Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation is seeking information in an attempt to determine strategic support options for Cables (FSC 5995, and 6150) and Lighting (FSC 6210, 6220, 6230, 6240, 6250, 6260, and 6350) National Stock Numbers (NSNs). DLA Aviation's intention is to leverage best practices and implement a solution which: •· Reduces the administrative lead time (ALT) and effort required to source low cost items. •· Increases on-time delivery of material. •· Utilizes Small Business Manufacturers to the maximum extent possible. •· Improves support to the warfighter. Scope of Project: Please see attachment 1 for a projected list of NSNs included in this project. The technical data is available from DLA but will not be released until the solicitation is posted on DIBBs. DLA is looking for a contract solution to maximize NSNs on Long Term Contract (LTC), which may include multiple awards. Awards may be made to Manufacturers, Distributors, and/or Integrators, depending on the response received from this RFI.
