Description
This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a Sources Sought publication only. The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. Please do not submit a proposal in response to this RFI. This notice is to assist the VA in the determination of sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. Responses to this sources sought is not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Fargo VA Health Care System, is seeking potential Contractors capable of providing a 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Board Certified /Board Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist on site at the Fargo VA Medical Center, 2101 Elm St. N., Fargo, ND 58102. These services are solely dedicated to Veteran patients of the Fargo VA Health Care System. The Fargo VA is looking for responses from contractors regarding their capability to provide 1.0 FTE Hematologist/Oncologist Physician Services. 1.0 FTE is defined as 40 hours per week; 2080 hours per year. The Hematology/Oncology Department is open Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The contractor s physician(s) will be available on-call during all hours when the Fargo VAHCS Hematology/Oncology clinic is closed, including evenings, weekends and holidays on rotating shifts. Each FTE will be expected to work a full shift. Services to be provided include: Contract physicians (as appropriate and within scope of practice/privileging) shall be responsible for providing Hematology/Oncology Department care, including, but not limited to: Provide clinical Hematology/Oncology services. Contractor s physician(s) shall be present on time for any scheduled clinics as documented by physical presence in the clinic at the scheduled start time. Contract Health providers shall directly admit patients to the FARGO VAHCS if their condition warrants, or in conjunction with the FARGO VAHCS attending physician, admit patients for subsequent inpatient healthcare. Contractor provider(s) shall provide consultative services at the patient's bedside if the patient is not ambulatory and in the clinic setting if the patient is able to report to the outpatient clinic. Procedures shall be scheduled for completion within 30 days of the date of the consult. Should a VA beneficiary require services or care beyond the capabilities of the FARGO VAHCS, as determined by the attending physician and VA Chief of Staff, the patient shall be transferred to an appropriate VA or private medical treatment facility based upon patient condition. The contract health care provider shall coordinate all transfers with the VA Clinical Resource Management Nurse prior to actual transfer. Contract health care providers shall seek the approval of the VA Clinical Resource Management Nurse or designee before performing other actions for non-emergent procedures or treatments. All established patient safety and infection control standards of care. Contract physician(s) shall make every effort to prevent medication errors, falls, and patient injury caused by acts of commission or omission in the delivery of care. Contractor s physician(s) shall provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all Hematology/Oncology clinical patients. Contractor s physician(s) shall follow all established patient safety and infection control standards of care. Contractor s physician(s) shall make every effort to prevent medication errors, falls, and patient injury caused by acts of commission or omission in the delivery of care. All events related to patient injury, medication errors, and other breeches of patient safety shall be reported to the COR VA Safety Policy. As soon as practicable (but within 24 hours) Contractors shall notify COR of incident and submit to the COR the Patient Safety Report, following up with COR as required or requested. Additional Information: The VA seeks to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (HUBZone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NAICS Code 561320, Temporary Help Services; size standard of $27.5 Million. Responses to this Sources Sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and developing a potential procurement strategy. After review of responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in the FedBizOpps website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond directly to any corresponding solicitation by submitting a proposal.
