- VA James J. Peters VA Medical Center Research Department intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with New York Genome Center, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1; to continue to provide sequencing services in support of the VA s research study Molecular Alterations in Spinal Cord Injury. These services must be provided by a vendor within one hour s drive of the VA facility, due to the nature of the study. Members of the VA laboratory in the James J Peters VA Medical Center (JJPVAMC), Bronx, NY, will deliver the samples to the Center/Facility. Due to the necessity to maintain temperature control, physical integrity of the samples and chain of custody, transportation of the samples outside this specified radius is infeasible. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Wednesday, May 30, 2017, 4:00, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Elaine DiBucci at elaine.dibucci@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
