Pre-Solicitation Synopsis THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT TO: BAE SYSTEMS CONTROLS INC. (Cage 89954) 1.Solicitation will be issued on or about: 9 June 2017 and closes: 9 July 2017 2.Solicitation Number: FA8122-17-R-0015 3.Purchase Request Number: FD2030-17-00851 4.Nomenclature/Noun: Repair of J85-21 Digital Temperature Control Amplifier 5.NSN: 5996-01-469-5696OK Part Number: 101E9880G01 6.Application: F-5 Navy with J85-21 Engine 7.Description: The turbine discharge temperature sensing system controls nozzle are to prevent excessive TS temperatures and prevent compressor stall at ambient temperatures below -2F. This sensing system can override the power lever setting to control nozzle area. The amplifier compares temperatures to a preset reference temperature on a standard day. The amplifier compares the TS temperature and the reference temperature. If a temperature error is sensed, the amplifier will operate the TS motor, which can override the power lever cam and open the nozzle. The check and test for Digital Electronic Amplifier is required before repairing the J85-21 engine used by the F-5 Navy aircraft. The quantity repair is based on the Air Force requirements each quarter including the Navy Requirements Data Exchange List (RDEL) of 5 per quarter. Contractor shall perform check and test, and if unit fails, all necessary repairs will be performed to return to serviceable condition, and if found serviceable, return serviceable units back to the USAF. The Air Force does not have the capability to qualify any additional sources for this repair.
