- Description
- The U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey, Warfighter Support Group, on behalf of the New Zealand Defense Force (NZDF), has awarded Contract Number W15QKN-17-C-0048 to procure twelve (12) 2.4m Inflatable Satellite Antennas (ISA) with supporting hardware, spares, integration, and training support. This acquisition shall allow the NZDF to meet their mission requirements to secure New Zealand against external threat, to protect their sovereign interests, and to take action to meet likely contingencies in New Zealand's area of strategic interest. The principal role of the Defense Force is to defend the nation's sovereign territory and those areas for which New Zealand is responsible, providing security for New Zealanders, including against terrorism and related threats. Pursuant to Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement 225.7304(a) - Foreign Military Sale (FMS) customers may request that a defense article or defense services be obtained from a particular contractor. In such cases, FAR 6.302-4 provides authority to contract without full and open competition. The contracting officer shall honor such request from the FMS customer only if the Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) or other written direction sufficiently fulfills the requirements of FAR Subpart 6.3. On 25 July 2016, the United States of America LOA, Case Number NZ-B-VAV, was approved by the Project Director, Network Enabled Army identifying GATR Technologies, Inc.'s ISA as the material solution for the NZDF's program.
