- SOW The National Institutes of Health intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with American Society for Nutrition, Bethesda, Md. The NIH Office Dietary of Supplement needs to obtain Annual subscription to American Society, pamphlets. These pamphlets will allows benefit from early-bird editions of their morning newsletters, customized news alerts, access to our in-depth calendars and Pro-only events and more. This will be a 12-month contract. Please see the attached Statement of Work for further information. This is a renewal requirement to publish through pamphlets in a unique format, locking existing analysis into continued use of this tool, making it hard for replacement tools to do the same thing. American Society for Nutrition product can only be purchased in the US directly from American Society for Nutrition. This is a powerful tool for performing microarray and next gen sequence data analysis to get biologically meaningful functional information. Finally, this is a recognized brand name tool that is in high demand across the NIH campus. American Society for Nutrition unique capabilities: • Publication in AJCN of 23 manuscripts reflecting the proceedings of a September 2016 NIH workshop will result in dissemination of the workshop's content and outcomes to a broader audience than would be reached by publication in any other relevant venue. AJCN is the most highly rated peer-reviewed journal in ISI's nutrition and dietetics category, and publishers the latest worldwide basic and clinical studies relevant to human nutrition. The AJCN was selected by the Special Libraries Association (SLA) as one of the top 100 most influential journals in biology and medicine over the last 100 years. Its 2015 impact of 6.818 according to Thomson Reuters. Responses The proposed acquisition action is for items and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1 (b). If you believe you can provide the items or services, please forward capability statements to anita.edwards@nih.gov by June 1st, 2017. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract acquisition based upon responses to the notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in response. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Any organization responding to this notice should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed. Information provided will be used to assess tradeoffs and alternatives available for the potential requirement and may lead to the development of a solicitation. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. Any solicitation resulting from the analysis of information obtained will be announced to the public in Federal Business Opportunities in accordance with the FAR Part 5. However, responses to this notice will not be considered adequate responses to a solicitation. No proprietary, classified, confidential, or sensitive information should be included in your response. The Government reserves the right to use any non-proprietary technical information in any resultant solicitation(s).
