- Notice of Intent to Sole Source - One-Year contract for supplies and services for USDA researchers at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center Solicitation Number: AG-64PP-S-17-0007 THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The intent of this special notice is for informational purposes only. The Midwest Area for the Agricultural Research Service of the United Stated Department of Agriculture intends to issue an award to the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, 975 North Warson Road, St. Louis, MO 63132. This is a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), "Soliciting from a single source" based upon only one responsible source capable of meeting the Government's requirement. This is a requirement of the Plant Genetics Research Unit, MWA, ARS, USDA at St. Louis, MO for a contract for supplies and services for USDA researchers. The supplies and services are only available through the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center (DDPSC). Furthermore, the USDA-ARS researchers are congressionally mandated to be located to do research at this facility. The supplies and services requested consist of the use of different types of gas, including liquid nitrogen, argon, and helium, dry ice, copier use, the use of the mass spectrometry facility, and other miscellaneous supplies. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, the Government shall consider all responsible sources received by 4 PM (Central) on Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Written responses to this notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona-fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no written responses are received after the publication of this notice the purchase will be awarded without further notice. This acquisition is being conducted under the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Please email Purchasing Agent, Brionna D.
