Description
Industry Day Posting The Unified Shared Services Management (USSM) office is hosting an industry day June 26 and June 27, 2017. It will consist of a 2 ½ hour general audience session the morning of June 26, 2017, followed by vendor demonstration sessions in the afternoon for solutions that satisfy the expectations laid out in this announcement. USSM is requesting demonstrations of payroll and/or time and attendance software-as-a-service (SaaS)* solutions that: 1) Are offered by the software publisher who created and owns the source code and intellectual property that constitutes the solution. 2) Support multiple tenants within a single instance and scales on-demand to accommodate between 30,0000 and 2.5 million users. 3) Allow the customer to pay for service at a rate that is generally steady or decreasing over use. Pricing does not change significantly upward, as scale should reduce per-customer costs. 4) The product does or can meet FedRAMP requirements. 5) Automatically pushes upgrades, patches, and security updates to all SaaS customers (e.g., customers cannot elect to stay on an older version of the solution). 6) Have mobile-friendly interface options or follow a responsive design methodology. Due to logistical considerations, the general morning session on June 26, 2017 will be limited to two representatives from each vendor. Attendees must register at the link at the end of this posting. Vendors who meet the definition of SaaS and are interested in showcasing their payroll and/or time & attendance SaaS solutions during one of the demonstration sessions must also submit the second portion of the form in the link at the end of this posting. During the demonstration vendors should highlight and emphasize the following: - Adaptability and flexibility of the solution to handle unique requirements via configuration (e.g., federal specific requirements such as "budget object class"**) without software customization (i.e., without creating new code/a new instance) --- Vendors may want to provide a list/chart of configurable items and demonstrate the most commonly used configurations - Pricing and contracting strategies to potentially include deployment and transition costs - Current federal regulations/policies that could inhibit the vendor from effectively delivering SaaS to the government - Ability to adapt the solution to changing requirements and continuously provide better customer service and quality through innovation - Previous experience with federal/state/local governments or customers of similar size (e.g., private sector companies) Video teleconferencing is available for those vendors who would like to showcase their offering, but may not be able to come to the Washington, D.C. area. Please use the Google form at this link https://goo.gl/forms/hrW8UkVBJAzHqsMl2 to RSVP for the Monday morning industry day session and, if interested, indicate your preferred date and time frame(s) (e.g., Tuesday morning) for the demonstration session by June 1, 2017. You will receive a confirmation email by Monday, June 5, 2017. USSM reserves the right to assign vendors to any time frame, due to scheduling needs. Vendors must submit their completed form to USSM by June 1, 2017 to participate in either or both portions. The time slot options for the 50-minute demonstrations are indicated below Monday, June 26 1:00 PM - 1:50 PM 2:00 PM - 2:50 PM 3:00 PM - 3:50 PM 4:00 PM - 4:50 PM Tuesday, June 27 8:00 AM - 8:50 AM 9:00 AM - 9:50 AM 10:00 AM - 10:50 AM 11:00 AM - 11:50 AM 1:00 PM - 1:50 PM 2:00 PM - 2:50 PM 3:00 PM - 3:50 PM 4:00 PM - 4:50 PM * "The capability provided to the consumer is to use the provider's applications running on a cloud infrastructure. The applications are accessible from various client devices through a thin client interface such as a web browser (e.g., web-based email). The consumer does not manage or control the underlying cloud infrastructure including network, servers, operating systems, storage, or even individual application capabilities, with the possible exception of limited user-specific application configuration settings." NIST Definition of Software-as-a-Service. ** Budget object class codes are categories in a classification system that presents obligations by the items or services purchased by the Federal Government (e.g. 10-Personnel Compensation and Benefits, 20 Contractual Services and Supplies, 30 Acquisition of Assets, 40 Grants and Fixed Charges).
