Description

Solicitation SB1341-76-RQ-0396-1 Dynamic Mode Mixer Amendment 001: The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions: Question 1: Pertaining to CLN 0005 and 0010, Are these just bare fiber? Patch cords? Can you provide required length and connector type? Answer 1: This fiber is for evaluation for fabrication of a mode mixer using this core diameter. The length is the length necessary for the vendor to have confidence in their ability to incorporate the fiber into a mode mixer. Question 2: Pertaining to CLN 0005 and 0010, InF3 fibers will have to come from 2 different vendors. Unless CLN 0005 and CLN 0010 are fiber options to install in CLN 0003 and CLN 0008 instead of the specified fiber Answer 2: Yes, it is fine to use InF3 fibers. From our previous discussions with the vendor, this is the material that was settled upon for the 1900 nm to 3100 nm optical fiber for the Mode Mixer(s). There is no requirement on specific vendor. It is fine that the material will come from 2 different vendors. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
