Page 1 of 2 FY2017 Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Acquisition Operations Strategic Acquisition Center Fredericksburg, VA 22408 BIOLOGICAL IMPLANTS INDUSTRY DAY AMENDMENT TWO ---------------------------------------------------------- This Amendment is being issued to extend the archive date which will allow time to prepare and post documents from the Biological Industry Day such as List of Attendees and Questions and Answers. AMENDMENT ONE ---------------------------------------------------------- Only ONE SESSION will be held in the morning of Wednesday, May 24, 2017, and this amendment is to provide notification that the second session, 1:30 pm until 4:00 pm, is hereby canceled. All other information in the special notice remains the same. NOTE: This Special Notice is published under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 339113 and Product and Service Code (PSC) Group 65 Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies and 6515 Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment and Supplies. There is only one industry day event to be held, with two sessions, which will cover the topic and acquisition detailed below. A Special Notice ID reference number VA119-17-N-0295 is assigned and will be utilized for informational purposes only and is not associated with a solicitation. ---------------------------------------------------------- This announcement is released by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Acquisition Operations (OAO) Strategic Acquisitions Center (SAC) Fredericksburg, Virginia that provides an invitation to interested contractors to attend and participate in an Industry Day presentation pertaining to Biological Implants to be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, with one session. The first session is from 9:30 am until approximately Noon to be held at 10300 Spotsylvania Avenue, STE 400, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. The event is restricted to 2 individuals from each company and each individual must register for their own ticket. The purpose is to improve the understanding of Government requirements and industry capabilities, thereby allowing potential offerors to judge whether or how they can satisfy the Government s requirements, and enhancing the Government s ability to obtain quality goods and services, ascertain reasonable prices, and increase efficiency in proposal preparation, evaluation, and contract awards. Manufacturers, Distributors, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are encouraged to attend. VHA Biologics: NAICS: 339113/PSC: 6515: The intended use of biological implants is any human cell, tissue, or cellular or tissue-based product or animal product inserted or grafted into the body for prosthetic, therapeutic purposes. Biologic implants are comprised of allografts and xenografts. Contractors must meet the industry labeling requirements of the International Standard for Blood and Transplant (ISBT) 128 labeling requirement which is the global standard for the identification, labeling, and information transfer of medical products. Biological implants must be tracked from human donor or animal source at each step of distribution to implantation so that all patients who receive a biological implant by the VA can be notified of a recall subject to the evaluation by appropriate medical personnel. ---------------------------------------------------------- REGISTRATION for the Biologics Industry Day is required and must be completed no later than Friday, May 19, 2017. Attendance is limited to two (2) representatives per company and each individual must register for their own ticket. Walk-ins will not be permitted. Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, until session capacity is reached.
