- Description
- The Smithsonian Institution ("SI") intends to issue a Solicitation/"Request for Proposals" ("RFP") for Unarmed Guard services. Said services will be provided in at multiple SI's sites located in multiple states-including, but not necessarily limited to, Washington, D.C., Maryland, New York, and Virginia. It is SI's intent to issue (post on FedBizOpps) a Request for Proposals the latter part of June-anticipated to be on or before June 30, 2017. SI is seeking a Contractor to provide management, payroll, supervision, breaks, manpower, equipment, and supplies necessary to provide Unarmed Guard services. Said services shall consist of, but not necessarily limited to, routine fixed post, Visitor Screening Posts, K-9 Detection Teams, and roving patrol duties to provide customer service and to assure safety and protection for occupants and property against injury, molestation, vandalism, theft, trespass, fire, and any other events/activities detrimental to the security of such persons and property. The Contractor must supply management and operations personnel to insure that services will be performed in a professional manner; and the administration of such services shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. Capabilities-Including, but not necessarily limited to, the following: • The Respondent's current legal ability to provide contract security services in Washington-DC, Maryland, Virginia, and New York City; • The Respondent's length of time providing contract security services in Washington-DC, Maryland, Virginia, and New York City, identifying at least 1 year of continuous service in each identified jurisdiction; • The Respondent's current staffing levels in Washington-DC, Maryland, Virginia, and New York City demonstrating a minimum current volume of 500 officers collectively; • The Respondent's experience servicing museums, cultural properties and/or open campus environments where a high degree of customer interaction along with the protection of critical assets is the primary function. Without verifiable experience in one or more categories the submission will not be considered; • The Respondent's current staffing levels along with their hiring, screening and retention process. A minimum of 500 regional officers and/or 1000 national officers with a regional retention rate that demonstrates a reduction in turnover annually; • The Respondent's current and prior experience providing contract security services to the federal Government or a similarly structured entity. Respondents must demonstrate a minimum of 1 year of continuous service to be considered.
