- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation for bids, proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of all qualified sources to perform a potential requirement. The responses received from interested contractors will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network Contracting Office (NCO) 20, is conducting market research to identify potential sources which can provide the following equipment: Brand name or equal to Biomerieux Color Gram V2 System automated gram stainer Salient Characteristics: Dimensions: Maximum: H 24in x W 24 in x D 30 in Clearance Height (lid open): 24 in or less. Weight: 100 lbs or less. Electrical requirements: 20 Amps @ 120 Volts / 60Hz AC power outlet must be within 6ft of instrument. Must produce standardized results that are not user dependent. Must be ready to read within 7 minutes. Must avoid cross contamination. Minimal hands on time and clean up including routine maintenance (< 30 minutes total time daily) Reagents for gram stainer must include: crystal violet, iodine, acetone safranin, and safranin. Must reduce the use of reagents and produce minimal wasted. Must also be able to process various specimen types: sputums, BAL, Bronch washings, pleural fluid, synovial fluid, peritoneal fluid, CSF, wounds, stool, etc. Potential candidates having the capabilities necessary to provide the above stated equipment are invited to respond to this Sources Sought Notice via e-mail to Laura Davis at laura.davis5@va.gov no later than 6 June 2017. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. RESPONSES SHOULD INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: company name, address, and business size; point of contact name, phone number, and e-mail address; suggested equipment information including manufacturer, model and delivery schedule; whether system is presently offered on a current GSA Federal Supply Schedule contract. NAICS Code 334516 is applicable to determine business size standard. Any questions or concerns may also be directed to Laura Davis via e-mail. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Any organization responding to this Sources Sought Notice should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine the organization's qualifications to perform the work. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. The Government may or may not issue a solicitation as a result of this announcement. There is no solicitation available at this time.
