- PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE Solicitation No. SGE500-17-R-0103 The American Consulate General, Frankfurt hereby provides the following Pre-Solicitation Notice in respect of the issuance of a Request for Proposal (RFP) for: Construction services for the renovation of (one) Historic electric traction passenger elevator in the Chief of Mission residence, Havana Cuba. The solicitation may result in the award of a Firm-Fixed Price Construction Type Contract in the third quarter of 2017. The scope of work requires the successful Contractor to provide professional construction services necessary to meet the requirements of the contract within the established schedules. The project includes the renovation of a Historic electric traction passenger elevator in the Chief of Mission residence, Havana Cuba. The work shall include but not be limited to the removal of the existing elevator controls and replace with new microprocessor based controls, variable voltage variable frequency AC drive. And the removal of the existing geared AC traction drive machine and replace with a new AC gearless machine with ascending car overs-peed and uncontrolled motion capabilities. Install a new digital positioning system. Replace all wiring up to and including the traveling cables, car and hoistway wiring and new. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be held sometime in late July or early August 2016, the precise date and location will be provided in the solicitation package. The estimated magnitude for this project is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00 U.S. Dollars for the entire project. Companies interested in the solicitation shall express their interest by written correspondence to the attention of Colum Mullan e-mail address mullanpc@state.gov, no later than 15:00 hours CET on June 30, 2017 using the solicitation number SGE500-17-R-0103 in the subject line. DO NOT TELEPHONE. All requests for a copy of the solicitation MUST include the following information: Name of Firm, Name of Contact Person, Telephone and Fax Numbers, and Email Address of Point of Contact as well as the Firm's Complete Physical and Mailing Addresses. The solicitation package/documents shall not be placed on FedBizOpps as the document contains SBU information. Only companies submitting a letter of interest shall receive a copy of the solicitation package/documents when available. Firms shall be knowledgeable in written and spoken English and possess all appropriate permits and licenses to perform construction work in the Cuba. The solicitation package will only be available in the English language. You will be required to provide information that clearly shows you are able to work in the country of Cuba. Any entry or work visa issues requirements must be clearly discussed with a plan to mitigate any risk clearly identified.
