Description
THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. Naval Air Warfare Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) intends to solicit, negotiate and award a sole source contract for the Production Provisioning of components required to modify 1,800 LAU-118(V)1/A Missile Launchers. The components are included in approved ECP 15BR003 and are based on an approved design used to replace an existing Critical Safety Item (CSI) in a cable harness assembly. The components were qualified and included in the ECP drawing number which identifies all components required to modify 1,800 LAU-118(V)1/A Missile Launchers including the relay and relay mount. 1,800 kits are required to install on all the Navy Fleet aircraft. The ECP meets the Government requirement for form fit, electromagnetic interference (EMI)/ electromagnetic capability (EMC) and complies with the Critical Application Item (CAI) requirements. The purpose of this acquisition is to support the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) AIR- 5.1.6.8 (stores capability) to obtain relay components and relay mount assemblies for modification of 1,800 LAU-118(V)1/A Missile Launchers used on the F/A-18 and EA-6B aircraft in accordance with NAVAIR Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) 15BR003. This ECP is required to mitigate the AMRAAM and/or AAGRM missiles from accidently departing the aircraft during an arrested gear landing on the Aircraft Carrier or on land. The Government anticipates awarding this requirement on a sole-souce basis to Leach International Corporation using the authority at FAR 6.302-1 " Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements". This is a one time purhcase/ buy. The primary place of performance will be the manufacturer site. Response(s) to this notice may be made via email or on company letterhead: include company's name, point of contact, address, phone number, DUNS number, Tax ID, business size, and this source number. All responses must be received by June 16, 2017. Responses may be emailed to Melody Baron at melody.baron@navy.mil.
