- This posting is in response to questions by interested parties relating to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA High Frequency (HF) Radio Market Survey posted on May 26, 2017. Reference: Solicitation Number 27398. Question 1: The opening requirements paragraph states: "Responses are to include a budgetary estimate of the costs for the design, engineering, hardware, shipping, and installation. Can you give us the location that the equipment is to be shipped to and installed? Answer 1: 4848 Lambs Knoll Rd, Boonsboro, Md 21713 Question 2: Requirement 13: Which section(s) of the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and the National Energy Conservation Policy Act of 1978 the FAA is expecting potential prime contractors to meet. Would you be so kind as to give more specific guidance as to what sections of the Acts are applicable to this solicitation. Answer 2: Requirement 13 as posted under solicitation number 27398 is hereby revised as follows Indicate if the equipment is an Energy Star product or a FEMP designated product. If not, indicate if there are any exceptions as defined in section 8259b, paragraph (b) (2) Exceptions of the National Energy Conservation Policy Act of 1978. Question 3: Can you tell me if there is an incumbent contractor currently performing work for this requirement? If so, could you please provide their company name and contract number? Answer 3: There is not an incumbent contractor. Question 4: Would you be able to provide the manufacturer/model of the existing HF/SSB radio transceiver referenced in the posting below? Answer 4: HF equipment at the site has been removed. The purpose of this Market Survey is to understand what radio technologies are currently in the HF/SSB radio market space, identify radio manufacturers, identify potential vendors with experience installing HF/SSB radio systems, and options available for extended hardware warranty.
