Description

The Cincinnati VA Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Criticalpoint, LLC., to provide the following 3-day onsite training course, Sterile Compounding Boot Camp. Training to be covered is as follows: Brutal Facts of Compounding, Primary and Secondary Engineering Controls, Engineering Control Certification Lecture and Demonstration, Contamination Control: Hand Hygiene and Garbing, Material Handling and Conduct in Cleanrooms, Sanitization of Sterile Compounding Controlled Environments, Environmental and Personnel Sampling, Aseptic Media Fill, Process Verification and the Development of an Aseptic Media Fill Procedure, Sterile to Sterile Compounding: Assigning BUDs and Quality Release Testing, Nonsterile to Sterile Compounding: Methods of Sterilization and Quality Release Testing, Hazardous Drug Overview and Review of USP Chapter, Use of PPE with Hazardous Drug Handling, Primary, Secondary, and Supplemental Engineering Control Requirements, Work Practice Strategies for Receiving, Compounding and Transporting HDs, Environmental and Medical Surveillance Considerations, Decontamination, Cleaning, and Disinfection of HD Compounding Environments, and Response to HD Exposure and Spills. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 611430. The Government believes that Criticalpoint LLC. is the only contractor that can satisfy the agency requirements.  Therefore, the Government intends to proceed with a sole source procurement for the required supplies and or services. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements.  To the best of our knowledge, Criticalpoint LLC., MD is the only source that provides the above indicated training.  This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within five (5) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, Mary Lu Gilbert, Cincinnati VAMC, 260 East University Ave., Cincinnati, OH, 45219, emailed to marylu.gilbert@va.gov or via fax to (513) 559-3730. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Cincinnati VA Medical Center will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Criticalpoint LLC., MD.
