Description
Questions from interested firm & Answers from Location's Technical Representatives. Question 1. Reference Description of Work: (a) Mill/grade existing road surfaces (estimated at 76,348 SF) identified in red on the site repair photo in paragraph (9). Milling/grading shall remove existing surface including any top layers of asphalt. Where applicable asphalt removed shall be recycled into new base course for new road. Existing roadway surface shall be wetted prior to milling/grading to provide for proper dust control. IT WOULD BE CHEAPER TO PULVERIZE THE ENTIRE ROAD,(NOT JUST "WHERE APPLICABLE") AND USE THE EXISTING ASPHALT FOR YOUR NEW BASE. IS THIS ACCEPTABLE? Answer 1. Concur with comment from interested firm regarding the alternative of pulverizing the entire road and not only "where applicable". But, since there are portions of the existing road that are "thin", suggest using 3" base as described, this requirement remains unchanged. Question 2. Install new base course shall be 3" in depth using 3/4" base rock/gravel. This would not be necessary if firm utilized the existing asphalt. WOULD YOU STILL WANT IT BID? Answer 2. The 3" depth requirement will remain unchanged, however we will cut costs by reutilizing the pulverized asphalt instead of requiring the 3/4" base rock. Use 3" base as described. THIS REQUIREMENT REMAINS UNCHANGED. Amendment#000001 attachment addresses issue of original seven attachments not being able to be opened in FedBizOpps. Amendment#000001 includes all seven original attachments for this solicitation. All other terms and conditions of the original solicitation remain unchanged and in full force and effect.
