Description
This synopsis is being posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov. It is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitation to the internet. This is a synopsis for noncommercial supplies prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 13 as supplemented with additional information listed in this notice. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the most current Federal Acquisition Circular. This is being announced as a sole source requirement under the authority of FAR 6.302. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 335999 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) purchase order to TQ Electronics, Inc. for the fabrication of a direct drive amplifier. QorTek, Inc., conducted a trade study showing a direct drive power amplifier using their patented technology achieves a compact power amplifier that can be packaged in a conformal array. TQE, Inc. is licensed by Qortek, Inc. to fabricate direct drive power amplifiers using Qortek's patented direct drive power amplifier technology. NUWCDIVNPT requires a direct drive power amplifier be developed to drive the array elements of the conformal array that can be for packaged in a 1 ½" cylinder with height of 3 inches. In order to achieve this packaging constraint, the new power amplifier design must have no magnetics in the output stage for voltage step-up or impedance tuning. The output semiconductors must drive the array elements directly. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. Offers for other products must contain complete product information and prices. The following addenda or additional terms and conditions apply: Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rating is DO-C9. The anticipated posting date of solicitation N66604-17-Q-2488 is on or about 1 July 2017. The closing date for receipt of quotes will be established in the RFQ. For information on this acquisition contact Keri Gunn at keri.gunn@navy.mil.
