Description

Sole source justification for this procurement. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention contemplates award of a sole source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to the State University of New York Polytechnical Institute Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, 257 Fuller Road, Albany, NY 12230, to evalute the efficacy of enhanced darkfield microscopy hyperspectral imaging and mapping for the detection, characterization, and quantification of engineered nanomaterials captured on filters from occupational exposure assessments with the intent to develop a standardized method and protocols for rapid, high-throughput analysis. (See Sole Source Justification, attached, for full details of the sole source.) This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any response should be emailed to the purchasing agent at lml3@cdc.gov by 4:30 p.m. EDT, June 12, 2017.
