- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs, Albuquerque VA Medical has a requirement for a a semi-automatic tablet and capsule tester for use in the manufacture of pharmaceutical drugs for clinical trials. This tester will be used during pilot and manufacturing runs to insure the integrity of the tablets and capsules that are manufactured. The tester will verify the unique specifications for each type of tablet or capsule, by measuring weight, thickness, length or diameter and hardness of a given tablet. In the case of a capsule, the tester will also measure weight and length. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources who can meet the salient characteristics below and their size classification (large business, small business, 8(a), SDVOSB, etc.), relative to NAICS code 334516. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Based on responses to this synopsis, the Government intends to issue this RFQ as a Brand Name or Equal requirement in accordance must include the following specifications for the SmartTest 50 semi-automatic tablet testing system, SmartCal calibration, calibration kit for hardness. The salient characteristics/requiremented listed below are required: Provide Semi-Automatic Tablet/Capsule tester able to test 5 tablet or capsule parameters: weight, thickness, diameter, width and hardness. Tester must be STAINLESS STEEL and easily cleaned. Due to Production Suite layout, tester needs to be portable (as a minimum able to be lifted by two people for placement on a cart to be moved to a different room). Provide printer to include any cables, initial ink/toner, and if using specialized paper then at least one unit (roll, ream, etc.) for documenting results of tests. Perform installation to include Installation Qualification (IQ) and relevant documentation. Provide user training, equipment manuals and equipment operation instructions in PDF format. Perform Operational Qualification (OQ) and provide documentation. Type of Contract: Firm Fixed Price This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, however; any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Monday, June 12, 2017 at 4 PM, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov and should include company name, address, point of contact, business size, SDVOSB/VOSB status, and product information. No telephone responses will be accepted. This notice is to assist the Government in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement.
