Description

Sources Sought for Water Chiller Replacement Services at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Michigan This publication is a formal Sources Sought action seeking qualification statements from vendors interested in providing generalized plumbing, including removal and replacement of a chilled water pump. Project is anticipated as a small-business set-aside assigned to NAICS Code 238220: Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors. Qualified vendors must be capable to provide specialized plumbing services in accordance with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) construction guidelines, specifications, and national safety codes. This Sources Sought announcement is being issued to determine the interest, availability, and capability of Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned (VOSB), Woman-Owned (WOSB), and Small Business (SB) concerns related to work as described below: Project Scope: The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, work equipment qualified supervision for the replacement of existing aged dual evaporator air cooled chiller. The existing unit has reached the end of its useful life. The unit includes a 150-Ton capacity and an 80-Ton capacity. The unit is currently employed only during peak cooling load conditions. The primary chilled water pump serving the unit (CHWP-4) is a 7.5 hp. pump operating at 208V. All other facility chilled water pumps operate at 480V. The Facility intends to replace the unit with a new 350-ton capacity air cooled chiller and replace CHWP-4 with a new 480V pump to meet required chilled water flows for the proposed replacement chiller. In addition, the secondary chilled water pumps (CHWP-1 and CHWP-2) will be replaced to meet the new chilled water flow requirements. The Project Magnitude is between $250,000 and $500,000. Area of consideration is restricted to a 375-mile driving radius of the following location (place of performance): Oscar G Johnson VA Medical Center 325 East H Street Iron Mountain, MI 49801 This is a SOURCES-SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT for planning purposes only. Market research is being conducted to determine if there are Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned (SDVOSB), Veteran-Owned (VOSB), Woman-Owned (WOSB), and Small Business (SB) with the capabilities to perform the required work A formal FedBizOpps (www.fbo.gov) solicitation is anticipated to be posted on, or about, July 14th, 2017; proposals will be due thirty (30) calendar days after the solicitation has been posted. All interested parties should submit a capabilities package to include: 1. Proof of Small Business status under NAICS Code 238220 2.
