Description
Department of Veterans Affairs Albuquerque New Mexico Research & Development Cooperative Studies Program Clinical Research Pharmacy Coordinating Center (CSPCRPCC) has a requirement to purchase the most up to date version; automated desiccant inserter which will be customized to be integrated into our automated bottling packaging line. It must be made of high quality stainless steel, built to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and have FDA approved contact materials. This automated desiccant inserter shall allow production personnel to place desiccant pouches from rolls dispensed from a drop down system. This system will need to be able to handle bottle sizes from 75cc to 750cc and have the capacity up to process 30 to 50. This requirement will be utilized in support of various research projects at the Albuquerque VA. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (large business, small business, 8(a), SDVOSB, etc.), relative to NAICS code 333993. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. Based on responses to this synopsis, the Government may issue this RFQ on eBuy or Fed Biz Ops. Description & Salient Characteristics The VA CSPCRPCC requires a custom automated desiccant inserter that has the capabilities of placing pouches which are purchased on rolls of 4500 pouches into bottles ranging from 50cc to 750cc. This machine must have the capabilities of integrating on to our automated bottling line. Desiccant Inserter a. The machine must be capable of being placed within an existing packaging line b. This machine should be small and compact in size, including spool length to display Length: 30 Width: 40 c. Air supply: 80PSIG, 2 CFM d. Power Supply: 120VAC, 1 phase, 50/60Hz, 15A e. This machine must be able to insert one (1) to five (5) desiccant pouches per bottle f. Must be capable of processing container sizes ranging in size from 50cc to 750cc - Bottle opening: ¾ to 4 -Bottle Height: 1 ½ to 7 ¾ g. Roll of desiccant pouches should be capable of being mounted at the rear of machine h. 2 gram Silica gel pouch i. Pouch Length: 57mm j. Pouch Width: 22mm k. Roll Diameter Maximum: 13 l. Roll Width Maximum: 11 ½ m. Roll Core: 3 n. Capable of processing 20 to 30 bottles per minute (BPM) o. Shear knife for cutting pouch or pouches p. Pneumatic gating q. Safety guards with automatic machine stop r. Desiccant in bottle inspection, vision or beam technology s. Servo controlled t. Touch screen operator interface Capability u. Rugged stainless steel body construction v. Fully adjustable bottle filling platform w. Easily cleaned without tools x. Tower Lamp y. Built to cGMP standards z. Validation Package (Certified Executable IQ/OQ Validation Document) Additional Components Desiccant Inserter Tower lamp Onsite Installation and Training IQ/OQ Validation Documentation Non-Executed Pneumatic Gating System Rejection System Rejection Verification Check The vendor will also be responsible for Onsite Installation and Training Performance Period: Anticipated delivery, installation, training and acceptance by 11/9/2017. Type of Contract: Firm Fixed Price This notice is not a request for competitive proposals, however; any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Tuesday, June 13, 2017, 11:00 AM, EST. No telephone responses will be accepted. This notice is to assist the Government in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available.
