- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. Responses to this sources sought must be in writing. The purpose of this sources sought announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential qualified offerors. All Small Business types are sought; however, any Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses and Veteran Owned Small Businesses will take precedence. Documentation of technical expertise must contain sufficient detail for the Government to determine that your company possesses the necessary functional area expertise and experience to compete for this acquisition. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) Company name (b) Point of contact (c) Phone and email (d) Type of small business, e.g. Services Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran-owned Small Business There is an immediate need to provide cleaning and maintenance to main kitchen exhaust hoods located in bldg.41 & bldg.2, New Mexico VA Health Care System, 1501 San Pedro S.E. | Albuquerque, NM 87108-5128 They will clean an exhaust system according to the standards set forth by IKECA and maintain service cycles in compliance with the National Fire and Safety Association (NFPA -96) recommendations. The contractor will manually scrape, degrease, and/or pressure wash all portions of all kitchen exhaust systems located at this facility. Kitchen exhaust cleaning services will include the interior and exterior of all grease hood canopies, fire protection system pipes, links and nozzles, hood plenums, duct collars, water wash troughs, including hood-to-floor drains, plus all horizontal and vertical ductwork leading to, and including, all kitchen exhaust fans and stacks. As part of our regular service, contractor will provide before-and-after digital photos of all exhaust cleaning work performed upon request. Equipment and Parts to be supplied. There are 16 filters in the systems in Building 2 that are exchanged quarterly Specific Tasks. Main Canteen Kitchen (building 2) (1-12 Hood Canopy): complete kitchen exhaust system (to include vent-hood, duct(s), and fan(s Bistro (building 2) (1-8 Hood): complete kitchen exhaust system (to include vent-hood, duct(s), and fan(s)). Snack Station (building 2) (1-5 Hood): complete kitchen exhaust system (to include vent-hood, duct(s), and fan(s)). All work will be completed in accordance with guidelines outlined in the National Fire Protection Association #96 code (2011 edition) and those set forth by the International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association (IKECA). The contractor is certified as kitchen exhaust cleaning specialists by IKECA and holds additional certification as qualified kitchen exhaust cleaning inspectors and cleaners through IKECA. The contractor also is bonded and maintains current liability insurance, vehicle insurance and worker s compensation, carrying an aggregate total of $5 million in liability insurance, $1 million in automobile and $1 million in worker s comp. The contractor uses portable 1800 PSI, pressure washing machines and truck mounted 3000 PSI heated pressure washing machines and chemical degreasers and stainless steel cleaners manufactured by 2010 Products. (MSDS sheets for all chemicals and cleaners to be used on property can be submitted upon request). All degreasers used by the contractor meet the most stringent standards required in the kitchen exhaust cleaning industry. Special care will be taken to ensure that we leave all kitchen and work areas as clean, or cleaner, than we found them. We will drape plastic under the base of all hoods and over all appliances, and will take necessary steps to assure that all floors, tables and cooking surfaces are clean and ready for use by the next hours of operation. A sticker, noting the date of the last cleaning and the due date of the next cleaning, will be affixed to the hood canopy and a service report will be provided for your records as required by NPFA-96. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The Government is not obligated to nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice does not commit the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will be restricted to this information to match information to a possible solicitation. Public Law 109-461 mandates the VA to consider a total set-aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business set aside. However, if response by Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business firms proves inadequate, an alternate set-aside or full and open competition may be determined. There is no anticipated sub-contracting opportunity for this procurement. Notice to potential offerors: All offerors must register in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov before responding to any Government inquiry. Additionally, all Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses or Veteran Owned Businesses who plan to submit an offer must register with the Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Veterans Enterprise VetBiz Registry located at http://vip.vetbiz.gov.
