- Description
- This sources sought notice is for market research and acquisition planning purposes only. No formal solicitation for this work exists at this time. All interested and qualified concerns are encouraged to submit capability statements for consideration. Capability statements received will be reviewed to determine the technical, administrative and management capability of such offerors to perform this type of work. The capability statements will be used to assist in determining appropriate procurement strategy, in particular whether a set-aside is warranted or an alternate procurement strategy is warranted. The Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Region has a requirement to supply 20 new positive and fixed displacement vane pump assemblies at Hoover Dam. Currently, there are 20 Woodward type XX rotary gear oil pumps existing with the following attributes: - An automatic control is furnished with each pumping unit, which will start the supply of oil to the pressure tanks when the oil pressure or the oil level in the pressure tanks drops to a predetermined amount. - An automatic control is furnished with each pumping unit, which will stop the supply of oil when the oil pressure or oil level rises to a predetermined amount. - When operating as a twin system, the interconnection and automatic control of the two pumping units allows that either pumping unit may be used for normal operation with the other unit serving as a stand-by, arranged to start automatically either on failure of the electric power supply to the operating pump or when the oil pressure or level falls below a predetermined amount. The stand-by pump then starts automatically and delivers oil to the pressure system. - The controls automatically start and stop either or both pump motors as demanded by the oil requirements. Interested firms should have the following requirements: - Experience related to the design and manufacture of hydraulic control systems. - Ability to replicate the existing equipment, so all other parts of the system won ¿t need any changes. - Ability to supply all necessary piping, manifolds, valves, filters, strainers, mounting provisions and gasket patterns to allow the new assemblies to be installed in the existing cabinets and attached to the existing governor oil sump lid. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this acquisition is 333911 Pump & Pumping Equipment Manufacturing. The small business size standard for NAICS Code 333911 is 750 employees. Capability statements should include the following information: - Firm's name, address, telephone and fax numbers, business size and type ( 8(a), HUB Zone, Service Disabled Veteran, Small Business, Large Business, etc.), and point of contact to include e-mail address and telephone number. - Demonstration of the firm's manufacturing ability and experience related to hydraulic control system and governor oil pump. - Provide the project title, location, detailed descriptions of the effort, dollar value, contract award, completion dates, and the customer's name and telephone number. Capability statements are to be submitted no later than June 19, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. PST. Submittals will be reviewed and considered by Reclamation during the solicitation planning process. Please send your capability statements via email to Jong Lee, Contract Specialist at jmlee@usbr.gov. When it is determined that a formal solicitation will be issued, a pre-solicitation notice will be posted on Federal Business Opportunities web site at http://www.fedbizopps.
