End of Document Department of Veteran Affairs, VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, University Drive C, Pittsburgh, PA 15240 Statement of Work KARL STORZ for the new Cath/EP Labs, The Karl Storz video integration equipment will connect cardiac mapping systems, hemodynamic systems, and Philips Fluoroscopy equipment together into one centralized station. The video integration equipment will help reduce unnecessary wiring and monitors throughout the labs and control rooms. The equipment will also improve workflow by offering easy video integration of catheterization mapping systems and mobile devices into Philips equipment. This will help improve patient quality by offering enhanced visibility for physicians during a procedure. Karl Storz will be providing a dynamic intercom system that will improve the communication between staff in the control room and the labs. Finally the Karl Storz equipment will allow for easy integration of additional equipment that will be purchased in the future. This will reduce unnecessary construction and installation cost in the future. Karl Storz s video integration equipment is designed to reduce the foot print of unnecessary wiring and monitors throughout the Cath and EP labs as well as providing a proper means to integrate essential cardiac mapping systems into the existing equipment. All equipment that will be used in the Cath & EP labs will be integrated into Karl Storz system. This will allow physicians to properly display the specific device their using on any screen in the lab to help improve their visibility during the procedure. The requested equipment will consist of multiple digital cores that input, interpret, and export audio and video signals coming from the different types of integrated medical equipment. Additional installation information: The Karl Storz system is used for video integration. They will be providing the necessary video integration equipment and wiring to integrate all of the different medical modalities into one centralized video feed. Storz will install 3 video integration units (1 for each lab) into a video integration room (4N116). Storz will run all appropriate wiring and ensure functionality of all current catheterization and electrophysiology modalities. Storz will install an electrical panel to supply emergency power to the new system. They will contract out to Fallon Electric for the installation of the panel. A typical installation takes 5 days per room. A typical schedule ships equipment the week prior to install, usually arriving the Thursday prior to installation, and physical installation starts onsite Monday, with completion (including training) by Friday. *Below are some typical highlights of what occurs during the Monday through Friday installation. Move of equipment to location from Dock or storage (equipment is delivered just in time). Unpacking and cable pulls to all equipment. Cable termination and equipment configuration. Testing and final configuration. Disposal of any material used for shipping. Training/In-servicing onsite with biomed and clinical staff. Case Support for two days with first use. (More available if required). The electrical panel is first priority. Storz will contract out to Fallon Electric for the installation of the electrical panel, in part because Fallon Electric is contracted to do the electrical wiring for the 2nd phase of the Cath Lab Project under PO#646-B22045 The electrical panel will need to be installed with power established prior to arrival for installation.
