Description

J&A for JBER Portable Latrine Rental Exercising the option to extend current services under FAR 52.217-8 is needed as the completed requirements packet for the follow on contract has not been finalized. Without this packet, RCO-AK cannot advance the acquisition process in accordance with AFAR Subpart 5107.5 - Inherently Governmental Functions, AFAR 5107.503 Policy, (e) (i). Failure to exercise the option to extend services under FAR 52.217-8 would cause units throughout the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson to be unable to conduct required field training in preparation for future deployment and exercises. This would directly impact unit readiness and deployability. This would also cause training in the surrounding areas to be limited or canceled. These cancelations would directly affect unit readiness and duplications in costs as Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson bring in personnel and units from multiple locations. These duplications would include the costs of rescheduling the classes, canceling and rescheduling TDY's with associated costs.
