- This Market Survey/Request for Information (RFI) is being issued in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.1.2.1. This is not a Request for Offer (RFO) of any kind. Responses to this Market Survey/RFI will be used for informational purposes only. The FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. The FAA will not pay for any information received or costs incurred in preparing the response to this Market Survey/RFI. Any costs associated with this Market Survey/RFI submittal is solely at the interested vendor's expense. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is conducting a Market Survey/Request for Information to find industry partners that have the capability to perform Supply Chain Management, Warehouse, Distribution and Services, which includes maintenance, repair and overhaul. The FAA is looking at reevaluating current legacy processes as well as defining emerging requirements. The areas of interest are (1) operations (2) supply chain management; (3) planning and control; (4) quality assurance and quality control; (5) inventory management; (6) distribution networks; (7) warehouse use, operations, and utilization; (8) transportation and shipment of goods and materials; (9) materials management and handling; (10) overhaul and repair. If your company has the capability and experience in these areas, then please specifically address the following: Experience in Supply System Stock store and Issue of over 60,000 Stock Keeping Units (SKUs)/National Stock Numbers (NSNs)/unique assets Supply Chain Management of o40,000 exchange and repair assets oManaging contracts for over 250,000 expendable item purchases oContracts for over 240,000 direct ship to customer purchases. Please describe your company ™s physical flow, which should include the transformation, movement and storage of equipment. Experience as Primary Inventory Control Activity (PICA) for 29,000 SKUs/NSNS Experience as Secondary Inventory Control Activity (SICA) for 33,000 SKUs/NSNS Experience in obsolete technology re-engineering Experience with global transport coordination Experience with end of life technology systems -- coordinating reengineering with sole source vendors Demonstrated experience in successfully leveraging industry ERP technologies Experience with coordination/management of multiple sources of supply for acquisition and repair in support of a complex technology based infrastructure of 68,000 systems with approximately 10,000 distinct locations Experience managing cannibalization and disposal of decommissioned assets Experience coordinating and integrating System Acquisition and Deployment Hazardous material purchase and control If your firm performs any or all of these functions at the level requested, in a prime capacity, the FAA would like you to submit the following: 1. Capability Statement - This document should identify: - Type of services provided by your firm. - Size and type of services of a like or similar nature provided (elaborate and provide detailed information). 2. Number of years you have been in business and performing these functions. 3. Geographical areas where your company can provide services. The responses to this Market Survey will be used to determine if there are viable commercial sources to assist the FAA in improving performance. Vendors must provide written responses. If the FAA determines one-on-one meetings will add value to the process, the FAA may elect to conduct meetings with some or all respondents at its sole discretion.
