Description

Description of Work: The work consists of a base bid to place approximately 405,000 cubic yards of beachfill along the Atlantic Ocean coastline of Brigantine Island, Atlantic County, New Jersey. This contract requires open ocean dredging and hydraulic placement of beachfill. The project area is entirely within the municipality of Brigantine City. The contract work may also consist of up to 6 separate options to place additional amounts of beachfill per option, if awarded, in locations within and outside of the Base bid areas. Options 1, 2, and 3, if awarded, will be for quantities of 150,000, 75,000, and 25,000 cubic yards, respectively. Options 4 and 5, if awarded, will be for additional structural monitoring and a quantity of 85,000 cubic yards respectively. Option 6, if awarded, will be for a quantity of 175,000 cubic yards. The project work for the Base Bid and Options, if awarded, also may include, in addition to beachfill: the construction or repair of pedestrian, vehicle, and handicap dune crossovers; planting dune grass; and installing sand fencing.
