- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD ON A SOLE SOURCE BASIS Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to award a sole-source contract to Great Lakes Geomatics, LLC of 12504 Stephens Rd Warren, MI 48089. The procurement is for the Detroit River IWR Fisheries Group and they require construction of a new rigid framed metal maintenance building. The proposed building includes space for vessel and equipment storage, an office, and a fish processing lab. The proposed building location is within the Humbug Marsh tract just south of the headquarters visitor center construction site at 5437 West Jefferson Avenue, Trenton, MI 48183. A topographical survey and soils investigation is necessary for the FWS to develop construction documents for the proposed maintenance building. A topographical survey was developed by Great Lakes Geomatics LLC for the headquarters visitor center. To develop this survey Great Lakes Geomatics LLC performed a pre żdesign site investigation including researching and documenting existing below and above ground utilities, property easements, and other potential construction obstructions. They also researched and located existing National Geodetic Survey horizontal and vertical control benchmarks used to tie the headquarters visitor center survey into the state plane coordinate system. Due to the proximity of the proposed maintenance building site to the headquarters visitor center under construction, the information obtained by Great Lakes Geomatics LLC during the development of the headquarters visitor center topographical survey would be utilized to develop the topographical survey for the proposed maintenance building site. Classification System (NAICS) is 541370, Surveying and Mapping (Except Geophysical) Services. This is not a solicitation for quotations, but rather a notice of the Service's intent to make a sole-source award to Great Lakes Geomatics, LLC. There will be no solicitation issued or available. This notice is for information only. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS, AN INVITATION FOR BIDS, OR A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. THIS NOTICE DOES NOT REPRESENT A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR COSTS INCURRED IN PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF DATA OR ANY OTHER COSTS INCURRED IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.
