Description
The contractor will provide all plant, tools, equipment, materials, supplies, and manufactured articles, and furnishing all labor, transportation, and services, including fuel, power, water, and essential communications, and performing all work or other operations required for rehabilitation of three radial clarifiers, one of which is in need of repair from floating. The pipe connections to all three clarifiers will be checked and repaired as needed as well as the influent and effluent pipes. The effluent sludge pipes for all three clarifiers will be upgraded. The effluent pipe to the adjacent pond will be replaced with a 4 inch PVC pipe and the existing 2 inch effluent pipe to the Brauer ditch will be replaced with a 4 inch PVC pipe. All three clarifiers will be fitted with concrete collars which will have helical anchors imbedded into them and protruding 17 feet into the earth to ensure the clarifiers do not float in the future. The three existing 18 inch diameter gate valves will be retrofitted with square-nut adaptors and a T-handle for ease of use. The existing pump will be upgraded to a 5 hp pump. A new concrete pad surrounding all three clarifiers will be installed as well as a chain-link fence with a removable panel to allow for access. The Construction magnitude is between $250,000 and $500,000; with a budget toward the lower end of the magnitude. From a historical GeoTech report; Groundwater was encountered in 2011 ranging from 7.5 to 15 feet below existing ground surface. Another GeoTech report performed in 1993, encountered groundwater at depths of 6 to 16 feet.
