- THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) intends to negotiate and award a sole source IDIQ contract for F/A-18 and EA-18G Aircraft maintenance Support Services to the Boeing Company, with an ordering period of 60 months and anticipated award date of 1 October 2017. This requirement is to provide highly specialized aircraft maintenance and modifications, manufacturing of parts, instrumentation and engineering support services for unique F/A-18A-F & EA-18G and future variant aircraft. This is a follow-on contract with the Boeing Company who is the only known and qualified and responsible source in support of PMA-265, VX-23 Squadron F/A-18 Project Team. Boeing is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer of all models of the F/A-18 & EA-18G, and possesses certain proprietary rights to these aircraft, ground and flight databases, and data analysis techniques which includes documentation, software, firmware, and associated information to which access is needed to perform the required services. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with the Boeing Company, under the authority for other than full and open competition, Title 10, U.S. Code, Section 2304(c)(1) and implemented via Federal Acquisition Regulations Subpart 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency's requirement. The ordering period will be from 1 October 2017 to 31 September 2022. The primary place of performance for this contract is the Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Maryland. This synopsis is for information purposes only to announce the intent to negotiate and award a sole source contract for F/A-18 and EA-18G Aircraft Maintenance Support Services to the Boeing Company.
