- The Mid-Pacific Region of the Bureau of Reclamation intends to issue a Solicitation for a firm fixed-price contract for the Keswick & Shasta Powerplants Welding Shop Ventilation System Replacement. This procurement is set-aside for Total Small Business. Solicitation will follow Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) source selection process and will be issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) using FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The work to be performed is described below. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 238220 and the related small business size standard is $14 M. This notice is not a request for proposal and the information presented in this announcement will not obligate the Bureau of Reclamation in any manner. The estimated cost of this project is between $100,000.00 and $500,000.00. The work is located at Shasta and Keswick Dams, Redding, CA. PRINCIPAL COMPONENTS OF WORK: A. Contractor shall design, submit for acceptance, procure, fabricate at contractors facilities, install, field fit, and commission two new self-contained, wall-mounted source ventilation systems, one for each of the weld shops. B. The Contractor shall provide all qualified personnel, ladders, equipment, materials, tools, etc., to facilitate completion of the work in the designated areas. C. New ventilation systems shall utilize the existing powerhouse vent penetrations; if the existing penetrations are not adequate for current codes and standards, the contractor shall submit recommendations to the Government how to make the installation conform to current codes and standards. D. Contractor shall dismantle, disassemble, remove and disposal of all ventilation equipment that is not explicitly requested in writing by the COR to remain, or in not reused in the new system. Solicitation R17PS01148 will be posted electronically via www.fedbizopps.gov on or about July 17, 2017. The date for receipt of offers will be approximately August 1, 2017. The solicitation must be downloaded at the above website; no paper copy of this solicitation will be distributed. Prospective contractors MUST be actively registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at http://www.sam.gov to be eligible for award.
