Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 5 (NCO5) Martinsburg West Virginia intends to award a sole source contract in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Government intends to establish a BPA to American College of Physicians Executive, Inc. The BPA will be established and will provide VISN 5 physicians, medical and leadership staff instructor lead training throughout the year with accredited program course work through Certifying Commission in Medical Management (CCMM). Staff will be prepared if desired to continue course work and obtain a Certification of Physicians Executive (CPE). Course work/ training will be offered monthly at appointed VISN 5 locations based on training needs and space accommodations for class size. The following classes will be offered under this agreement subject to change in accordance with accreditation standards. Course #1 Course, Live: Physician in Management Leadership 1 day training Faculty: Carrie Kish, CPCC http://www.physicianleaders.org/join/our-people/faculty/carrie-kish Credits: 7 CME 7 Core for Certification/Master s Cost/Additional Materials: Course Description: Effective physician leadership is key to improved patient satisfaction, reduced length of stay and better integration of clinical care across service lines. When leaders learn to use interpersonal skills, they are able to apply them in a wide variety of specific activities, including leading teams, coaching and managing conflict. Increase their effectiveness as a team leader. Describe basic influence principles. Use influence to motivate others. In order to meet these challenging requirements the physician as leader, influencer, and as 'right thinker'  this course devotes itself to the following competencies. Course Objectives: Develop a personal philosophy of leadership. Determine a personal plan of action when influence is required. Analyze and demonstrate how to initiate successful change in a complex activity. Analyze and summarize one s own unique understanding of change and transformation. Use specific communication strategies for specific needs and in specific situations. Prepare and rehearse a plan for executive presence in meetings one-to-one or one-to-one-hundred. This course consists of lecture, interactive group work, theory and best practices, as well as discussion in order to meet the stated competencies and outcomes. Pre-work in the form of a confidential email to the attendees from the presenter will allow for a closer focus on the needs and the wishes of those present. The responses received will provide a platform for faster and more effective education and change and will serve as a dynamic model for the attendees themselves as they take the course content to their respective positions of leadership. At the end of the program, participants will understand: A common vocabulary of leadership, change and influence. An opportunity to openly discuss leadership successes and near successes. A way to forge a leader identity that focuses on outcomes. Strategies to use immediately with others. This action will result in establishing a base BPA contract framework: Firm-Fixed Price awards will be made with a period of performance of 12 months with up to 4/one year options for training services and course offerings. A determination not to compete this proposed contract upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered.
