- This is a sources sought notice only. The purpose of this sources sought notice is to gain market knowledge of potential businesses to provide virtual pharmacy services (see description of services and qualification requirements below.) The applicable NAICS Code is 621399, with a small business size standard of $7.5 million. All businesses capable of providing this service are encouraged to reply, as responses will be used by the Government to make determinations about the appropriate set-aside. No solicitation is available at this time. After review of the responses to this sources sought announcement, a synopsis and/or solicitation announcement may be published at a later time. Description of Services: The VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS) has a requirement for a contractor to provide virtual pharmacy services to eligible hospitalized patients at the Community Living Center at Martinez after normal CLC pharmacy hours. All work will be performed offsite at the contractor s facility. Contractor virtual pharmacist shall complete pending inpatient orders for all medications including those administered intravenously. The professional service includes order review for appropriateness of medication dose, indication and problem solving needed to assure safe and appropriate medication process such as screening for drug interactions or contraindications. Qualifications: The contract Pharmacist must be a graduate of a degree program in pharmacy from an approved college or university and licensed in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. The contract Pharmacist must have a working knowledge of VISTA and CPRS and be able to process pending inpatient orders. Experience with VISTA and CPRS must have been gained within the last three years. The contract Pharmacist must be familiar with the VA formulary and the restrictions and criteria for the use of non-formulary drugs.
