- The Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS), on behalf of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) intends to contract with Chesapeake Mission Critical, 1190 G. Baltimore Ave. Beltsville, MD 20705, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 6.302-1, for EATON UPS Battery Maintenance and Support. Chesapeake Mission Critical has been identified as the only source capable of providing the required content that suites the needs of TTB. Chesapeake Mission Critical is the only authorized representative to support EATON UPS systems in Maryland area. If maintenance is not performed properly the unit could be damaged or not function properly (including the batteries) and leave TTB in a vulnerable state and with a less than optimal UPS unit. Therefore, the maintenance must be performed by a certified EATON rep. Due to the complex design and concern for safety, EATON does not authorize 3rd-party service providers to perform maintenance on EATON 3-phase UPS products. Eaton employs a robust staff of factory-trained field engineers to perform preventative and remedial UPS services. These services cannot be performed without the use of a Service Toolkit (software). The toolkit is not made available to technicans who are not direct EATON employees. No solicitatin package will be issued. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by 12:00pm ET July 10, 2017.
