- Description
- Statement of Work Clinical Computing Contract (due to expire 3/31/17 VA244-12-C-0176) This request is to renew a contract that is to expire 3/31/17 for a base year and 4 options years. Hemodialysis is frequently chosen by end-stage renal disease patients as a renal replacement therapy. Each therapy treatment requires documentation of medical orders, dialysis machine data, vital signs, medications administered and nursing notes. Clinical Computing has developed an electronic medical record specifically for the documentation of dialysis treatments and that program is called Clinical Vision. Exalis software is an integrated product able to acquire, process and supply data required when running a dialysis treatment. Each dialysis machine is connected to the Exalis software via an Ethernet cord. The software connection to the dialysis machine occurs when the patient s ID is entered in the dialysis machine. At that point all data in the machine related to the treatment such as vital signs, arterial and venous pressures, fluid removal etc are automatically downloaded into the Exalis software where it is stored and then downloaded to an electronic medical record. During each treatment the machine data is downloaded to the Exalis software q 30 minutes or more frequently if needed. The electronic record, Clinical Vision, then uploads the dialysis machine data from Exalis. The dialysis nurses document medications administered, vital signs and nursing assessments and notes in Clinical Vision. The combination of machine data and the nursing portion of the program creates a dialysis flow sheet that is medical documentation of the dialysis treatment.
