Description
Replace Elevator Door Operators Purpose: The Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center requires the replace of door operators for 10 elevators serving the facility. Description of Work: The Contractor shall provide all materials, equipment, tools, labor, transportation, supervision and all other work and appurtenances necessary to replace the door operators on ten (10) for the following elevators: Silver Elevator Bank1 Four (4) Westinghouse Traction Cable Cars; Blue Elevator Bank East1,2 Three (3) Otis Traction Cable Cars; and, Blue Elevator Bank West1,2 Three (3) Otis Traction Cable Cars. Qualifications: The Contractor shall have a minimum of 10-years of experience in the Elevator Industry. Final inspection and commissioning of the new operators shall be performed by a Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry Third Party Inspection Agency (PennDLI). The Prime Contractor must also maintain a minimum of $1.0 million in Risk/Liability Insurance and provide a Certificate naming the Department of Veterans Affairs as a co-insured party for this Project. Site Visit / Work Verification: At a minimum, the Contractor shall perform an initial site visit to inspect each elevator car to ensure the proposed operators are compatible with the elevators and that all materials, equipment and work required for the installation are included in the bid. In addition, 30-days after final installation of all units, the Contractor shall visit the facility to inspect and adjust the closers as necessary.
