Description
Interpretation/Translation services are required by US Army South for the PANAMAX (PMX) Multi-National Forces-South (MNFS) Command Post Exercise (CPX) that will occur from 6-16 AUGUST 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. Off-site Translation services will be required prior, during, and after the conference from 12 July - 25 August 2017. During the exercise, the Contractor shall provide non-personal services for interpretation from Spanish (SPA) to English (ENG), English to Spanish, Portuguese (POT) to English and English to Portuguese and translation from Spanish to English, English to Spanish. On most days, sixteen (16) SPA-ENG interpreters and (2) POT-ENG interpreters will be required. Interpretation will consist of Simultaneous Interpretation (SI) in a static venue with a primarily passive audience during the first and second day of work - Academics (7-8 AUG). For the remainder of the exercise, most of the interpretation will consist of interactive small working group sessions of 20 to 40 and one-on-one interactions where Consecutive Interpretation (CI) is required. Expected equipment requirements include both wireless and Infrared (IR) interpretation systems. Contractor shall provide IR and short range wireless simultaneous interpretation (SI) equipment sufficient for English-Spanish, Spanish-English, Portuguese-English and English-Portuguese interpretation for 320 Personnel. Equipment should include, but is not limited to: • Half size/ Tabletop Simultaneous Interpretation (SI) Booths that meets recognized ISO 4043 standards. • Interpreter Consoles to support simultaneous bi-lingual interpretation • Interpreter Microphones/Headsets • Other SI Booth equipment as required • Audience receivers (IR or FM Wireless) (QTY:320) • Batteries for receivers and other equipment • Two (2) Wireless handheld and 1 lapel/lavalier microphone with necessary receivers, amplifiers, etc per SI Booth; • Audio cable(s) appropriate to connect SI Booths with PA system. SI/CI work to be performed under this contract will be performed at various locations in and around Fort Sam Houston, Texas. During the period of performance, the contractor shall perform interpretation services at the following locations: - San Antonio Hotel (Location: TBD) - Fort Sam Houston Theater (2250 Stanley Rd, Fort Sam Houston) - Army South Headquarters (2451 Stanley Rd, Fort Sam Houston) - Mission Training Complex (2259 Hood Street, Building 4012, Fort Sam Houston) (Infrared Interpretation System) - Tactical Field Location within Army South's Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelter (DRASH); Tent will be located outside the Mission Training Complex (Wireless Interpretation System).
