- Description
- Purpose: The Army Contracting Command (ACC) New Jersey, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 is conducting a Market Survey on behalf of the Program Manager Office Towed Artillery Systems (PM-TAS) to identify current available sources to provide support to the M777A2 Howitzer at Yuma Proving Ground. Description: The US Government is contemplating a requirement in which a vendor shall provide support in the fielding and retrofit of the M777A2 Lightweight 155mm howitzer and M119A3 105mm Light Towed Howitzer. Interested vendors must submit the following information in order for the Government to determine its ability to meet the requirement: 1. This support requires extensive knowledge and experience in large caliber artillery systems (M777A2 & M119A3). This includes hydraulic recoil and system operations, fire control installation and verification, testing and inspection procedures for critical system components and processes, titanium weld inspection and design and manufacturing skills to fabricate unique tools for both field and shop use is required. The vendor shall provide relevant experience related to each of the above required tasks. 2. The vendor shall assist with howitzer inspection procedures to include performing Bore scopes of cannons, unloading and moving of weapons to support testing, perform cyclic inspection and periodic maintenance of howitzers. 3. Capability to troubleshoot weapon operation failures, troubleshoot crew and Maintenance issues or hardware problems from improper use, excessive wear or design related failures. Additionally the vendor must be able to provide technical assistance for the operation and maintenance of howitzer systems including the M777A2 and M119A3. 4. The vendor shall design, fabricate and manufacture any special tooling, gages and equipment to support the various tasks for the retrofit effort to include the installation of the Digital Fire Control systems (DFCS) and record all modifications applied to each system. 5. The vendor mush have the capability to perform Quality Assurance repairs and modifications performed at Yuma Proving Ground or other field locations It is requested that interested describe the capabilities to meet all of the requirements above and provide a ROM cost on a yearly basis to provide this support.
