Description
The Coast Guard is performing market research for POLAR STAR's 2018 Dry Dock Availability. Significant NAVSEA work to the Generator Control Systems is planned during the 2018 maintenance period. The Coast Guard would like to gage ability and interest to perform a Dry Dock Availability concurrent with the NAVSEA work. The NAVSEA work requires isolation of all switchboards. Alternate power will need to be run to various loadcenters. The drydock availability will consist of similar maintenance to previous years with the addition of running temporary power, deconflicting with the NAVSEA work, temporary messing and berthing for approximately 30, and a requirement for pier space (approximately one and a half months) to facilitate NAVSEA testing post drydock prior to sea trails. Please provide feedback on the following: 1. What is your drydock availability for a drydock capable of docking POLAR STAR between April and October 2018? Please provide all open windows. 2. What is the minimum value per day that would trigger a business decision whether or not to propose on POLAR STAR's Dry Dock Availability? 3. What is your ability to provide alternate power of approximately 300kw through approximately 4 load centers. Load centers to be fabricated by contractor. Contractor will need provide a substantial amount of power cabling? 4. Ability to provide pier space with sufficient water depth (at least two feet below the keel), free of turbidity, silt, debris, shoal water, and submerged hazards, for a period of 45 days for NAVSEA testing? 5. Ability to provide temporary messing and berthing for approximately 30 people? Please provide a response with the requested information to Jennifer Sokolower at Jennifer.Sokolower@uscg.mil by 1800 on 13 July 2017. There is no solicitation associated with this announcement. Submission of a response to this market research is entirely voluntary and shall not obligated the USCG to pay or entitle the submitter of information to claim any direct or indirect costs of charges or any other remuneration whatsoever.
