Description
Replace Three Capacitor Banks Connected to Substation 7. Disconnect, remove and dispose of all three racks of capacitor banks located on the west side of substation 7. Properly protect to prevent damage to all wires and other components remaining in place or to be reutilized. Furnish and install a new set of three capacitor banks, matching existing, except that the new units shall have an additional contact point to feed power factor control indicating bank switch open or closed. If required, make any necessary changes to existing wiring or hardware to comply with manufacturer ™s recommendations. Commissioning: Verify proper installation, operation and perform maintenance requirements per manufacturer ™s installation instructions, including calibration. Verify all functions and document all measurements/test results. Electrically isolate and perform all safety requirements to prevent potential exposure to live voltages, including utilization of grounding devices. Perform all work in accordance with OSHA and Electrical Safety Standards. Coordinate and obtain approval from the LCC Operations Manager prior to de-energizing any circuits. Two Gas-Fired Units (GFU) in Mechanical Room. Demolish and dispose of two Rupp 6000 CFM/515 MBH GFUs, labelled GFU-1 and GFU-2. They are located on the west (GFU-1) and east (GFU-2) sides of Mechanical Room. Ductwork remains in place for use with new units. Install two new GFUs matching the Rupp specifications, listed in the attached file. Startup GFUs in accordance with manufacturers start up instructions.
