- The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, supervision, and other items and services necessary to ensure that the grounds maintenance is performed at Veterans Affairs Southern Nevada Health Care System (VASNHS) main campus in a manner that will maintain healthy grass, trees, shrubs, and plants and presents a clean, neat, and professional appearance in accordance with this PWS. The contractor shall accomplish all grounds maintenance tasks identified in this PWS in order to meet the requirements and Service Summary. A small map of the areas to be maintained by the contractor is provided in Appendix A. Appendix A map are provided only as an aid for the contractor, and there may be areas of improved grounds that are not identified on the maps and boundary lines that are not precise. The contractor shall request clarification regarding areas or boundaries lines that are unclear. Approximate ground area measurements are: 66 acres, improved grounds, including buildings, parking lots and landscaping; and 88 acres of unimproved grounds. All plants, scrubs, trees, etc. utilized in the improved landscaped areas. All work performed by the contractor shall be performed in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, standards, instructions, and commercial practices. The contractor shall provide services identified below for all improved grounds as identified in this PWS. Improved grounds are defined as any areas of grounds that have had some form of improvement work done to enhance appearance or function. Improvement includes, but is not limited to, flowers, decorative or non-decorative rocked areas, dirt drainage ditches, areas that contain planting and trees and running or walking tracks including 10 feet on either side. The contractor should expect to assume responsibility of new areas of improved grounds. A contract modification will be done for each addition /subtraction of area will be written to authorize the contractor to begin performance.
