Sources Sought Notice A.1 INTRODUCTION The VA Pittsburgh Research department has constructed a new Wet lab facility to accommodate Research professionals. These professionals are currently using space in the VA Pittsburgh Health care hospital facility as well as in the University of Pittsburgh/UPMC buildings. This procurement is to obtain the services of a commercial moving vendor capable of providing labor, equipment, vehicles and all supplies required to move, lab equipment to the new Research wet labs. Separate documents of lab inventories provided. A.2 BACKGROUND The Research Wet lab is part of the VA Construction Project 646-373 Research Building Addition. The new VA Laboratories occupies over 14,000sq.ft. over two floors. These laboratories are state of the art research facilities with and open layout plan of laboratory working spaces and shared common equipment housed in a tationally designed space adjacent to the open labs. Each floor has 13 bays with each bay occupying 500 sq.ft. with work benches on two sides and desk spaces for 4 lab researchers. There are 5 TC rooms per floor, each fully equipped with TC hood, stacked incubators, refrigerators, and centrifuge inverted scope water baths. In addition an EVOS XL cell imaging system and Leica dissecting scope are part of the common core equipment. A.3 SCOPE OF WORK This agreement is for a Vendor to provide labor, equipment, vehicles and all supplies required to move research lab equipment and supplies. All prospective Vendors are highly encouraged to attend a site visit on Monday July 31, 2017. This will be a one-time opportunity for any interested moving Vendor to walk through the current lab facility s and view where the equipment is to be move into the new facility. In no event shall failure to inspect the site constitute grounds for a claim after contract award. The Vendor shall provide labor equipment, carts, vehicles, containers and all supplies necessary to fulfill the moving/relocation requirements below within the time and date requirements. Please submit a one page capability statement to andrew.taylor3@va.gov and reference VA244-17-Q-1244 in the subject by July 17, 2017.
