- This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health, Clinical Center (CC) intends to award a Firm-Fixed price purchase order to Bruker Daltonics Inc., Billerica, MA 01821 on a sole source basis to procure the MALDI Biotyper® SMART CM System along with software and the Powervar UPS for Microflex manufactured by Bruker Daltonics Inc. The capabilities of the SMART instrument technology that is unique in that it can provide solid-state laser rates at 10 times as many shots, a SMART laser firing rate is 3-fold faster spectral acquisition rate, more powerful chamber vacuum pump leading to faster attainment of vacuum on opening and closing chamber when loading (and less frequently, after service), compatibility with the Compass suit of software, and one year service warranty on the system. Bruker Daltonics is the only known company that can provide all of the items needed for the instrumentation package that must match the existing government owned equipment the current validated Microflex system and NIH built databases, as well as offering interfacing capabilities with SOFT SCC LIS and Trek Sensititre systems. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516 with a small business standard size of 1,000 employees. This notice of intent to award is not a request for competitive quotations. Interested concerns capable of providing the same products or services as described in this notice may submit a capability statement outlining their capabilities. No solicitation is available. Information received will be evaluated for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Capability Statements must be received within the time set forth in this synopsis to be considered by the Government. A determination to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
