Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. The RFI is issued by the USDA, U.S. Vegetable Laboratory solely for information purposes. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service. U.S. Vegetable Laboratory is only seeking companies that can provide this work described below. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay any cost incurred in response to this RFI. Please send your company information to laurie.revard@ars.usda.gov or fax to 843-573-4715 if interested. The U.S. Vegetable Laboratory, 2700 Savannah Highway, Charleston, SC 29414 is looking for services to design and synthesize biotinylated RNA probes. These probes must be custom designed specifically to target and capture a 28Mb region of the Pepper (Capsicum annuum) genome. The service provider must be able to design probes using a non-publicly available, customer provided C. annuum genome assembly. The probes must be designed in a manner that facilitates capture of both long-read and short-read sequencing libraries. The intellectual property rights to the bait sequences must remain exclusively with ARS. All synthesized probes must be quality checked before delivery to assure functionality. The service provider must have a proven and published track record of producing efficacious RNA sequence capture probes that can be used to sequence complex and repetitive genomic regions.
