- The Special Projects Branch of the Seattle District contracting division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (hereinafter Seattle District or Special Projects Branch) plans to solicit an Invitation for Bids for the award of a Single Contract for a project entitled, "Replace AHU's and Controls Building 729 Fitness Center - McChord", Joint Base-Lewis-McChord, Washington. Solicitation number W912DW17B0010 will be posted to the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website, www.fbo.gov, ON OR ABOUT 31 July 2017. The solicitation will be an Invitation for Bids (IFB). Bids will be due approximately 30 calendar days after actual solicitation issuance date. MAGNITUDE OF CONSTRUCTION: Between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The resulting contract will be awarded as a Firm-Fixed Price Contract. Period of Performance: (NTP +) 365 Calendar days (1 year) Description of Work (Physical Characteristics) U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Special Projects Branch Contracting Office, located at JBLM, WA, requires the contractor to supply all supervision, labor, equipment, and materials to perform all work in strict accordance with the contract specifications, this statement of work, and identified drawings to replace existing heating and ventilation equipment consisting of air handling units (AHU's) No.1, No.2, No.3 & No.4; ventilation exhaust fans; and associated DDC controls currently serving Building 729 (Fitness Center). Replacement heating and ventilation equipment shall consist of new AHU's installed in a similar configuration with additional zoning provided by heating duct coils D steam-to-hot-water conversion (maintaining connection to the Central Steam Plant) with associated heat exchange equipment. THE IFB WILL INCLUDE A BASE BID ITEM AND OPTIONAL OPTION BID ITEMS WHICH WILL BE DETAILED IN THE SOLICITATION WHEN ISSUED. THE IFB WILL INCLUDE AS OPTIONS THE FOLLOWING, Full cooling (utilizing a high-efficiency air-cooled chilled water plant) throughout the facility in addition new natural gas-fired condensing boilers to replace the steam-to-hot-water conversion currently in use at the facility (i.e. removing the facility from the Central Steam Plant). Implementation of new gas-fired condensing boilers will require new gas line connection to facility through coordination with Puget Sound Energy (PSE). The solicitation documents for this requirement will be issued in electronic format only and will be made available online via the FBO website at www.fbo.gov under the subject solicitation number. NO CD's OR HARD COPIES WILL BE AVAILABLE. Offerors are responsible for checking for any update(s) to the Notice/Solicitation. The Government is not responsible for any loss of Internet connectivity or for an offeror's inability to access the document(s) posted at the referenced website.
