- Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 6 (NCO 6) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Biocare Medical (DUNS: 806617825), pursuant to FAR part 12, FAR part 13, and specifically FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold. Purchase order VA246-17-P-0351 was awarded on 18 October 2016. The action does not appear to have been synopsized prior to award. The purpose of this synopsis is to meet legal requirements for public notice, required under FAR Part 5, to allow for the legal exercise of Option Year One of the contract. The purpose of the contract is to provide services to maintain an IntelliPATH FLX device at the at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, North Carolina. The NAICS code for this contract action is 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance (SBA Size Standards: $20.5 million annual revenue). The Product Service Code for this action is J066, Maint/Repair/Rebuild of Equipment Instruments and Laboratory Equipment. The make and model of equipment maintained under the active contract, and proposed option year, includes: Quantity one (1) IntelliPATH FLX device. The service level for the contract is Biocare Medical s standard service maintenance agreement, which includes both preventative maintenance and emergent repairs. The justification for award, issued on 18 October 2016, is attached. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement, may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Friday, July 21, 2017, 08:00PM EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Daniel Spaulding, Contract Specialist, at daniel.spaulding@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
