Below are a list of capabilities and requirements: BRAND NAME ONLY Bio-Medical Devices Intl Maxair Systems 710 DLC CAPR (DLC - Disposable Lens Cuff; CAPR - Controlled Air Purifying Respirator) - System where the entire unit is contained within the helmet. Eliminates a hose and bulky blower that can interfere with patient care. - The blower system is quieter (<62 dB) so that it is compatible with stethoscope use, a common complaint with other systems is that they are too loud to hear clearly. - Simplified decontamination procedures, less time consuming and reduced risk of secondary contamination when employees doff the unit. - Battery unit is small and light enough to place in a scrub pocket or worn on a belt.. - This unit self-checks air flow, eliminates the need for the user to perform the self-check and perform it correctly every time. Visible LED lights in the helmet provide early warning of any problems which allow the user to leave the hazardous area promptly before they could be contaminated/exposed.
