Description
The National Park Service has a requirement for the project listed below. If you are interested, please submit a detailed capabilities in writing to demonstrate same or similar experience. Responses/correspondence shall be submitted via e-mail only, to Monica A. Divelbess with a courtesy copy to Stephen Newton (see point of contact information). The amount of interest, or lack thereof, will determine the type of solicitation, competition type, and/or size standard as applicable. Analysis of the quality of responses to this ources sought announcement will be considered in the market research being conducted and any determinations made for this requirement. This is not a request for proposal or invitation to bid. No proposal package, solicitation, specification or drawings are available with this announcement. Response to this announcement is strictly voluntary; no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this sources sought announcement or any follu-up information request. NAICS Code: 237310 - Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction Estimated Value: $5,000,000 - $6,000,000 Estimated Period of Performance: September 2017 through September 2018 Project Description STLI - 213901 - Rehabilitation and Repair of Structural Components - Mission Critical Ellis Island Bridge, Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island Monument, New York and New Jersey. The project will consist of repairing, strengthing or replacing deteriorated portions of the existing bridge. The Ellis Island utility bridge was installed in 1986 by the Statue of Libert - Ellis Island Foundations to enable cost effective access for the restoration of the Main Immigration Building at Ellis Island on behalf of the National Park Service (NPS) and the American people. The bridge was transferred from the foundation to the NPS in 1991. Although the bridge was initially meant to be temporary and was permitted by the State of New Jersey as such, it has become integral to ongoing construction and historic building preservation and rehabilitation projects on Ellis Island, including repairing damage caused by Hurrican Sandy. The bridge also supports park operations, including icon security, concession services, trash removal and emergency respons for both Liberty and Ellis Islands. Work Includes: Replace the entire decking system; install a crutch bent; clean and paing all exposed portions of piles, bent caps, floor beams, and trusses; and install a concrete jacket on one sister pile; repairing existing lighting and electrical services; repairing existing guardrail system; and concrete repair and repointing at abutments. Evaluation Firms interested in the project should possess the following specialized skills and experience and address these in any response to this notice. Interested forms shall submit three projects completed within the past five years that are similar to that contained in this announcement and shall demonstrate the following: * Experience managing and constructing projects that are similar in scope, size, and magnitude *Experience in the coordination and communication required of divers project teams to maintain scope, schedule, and cost * Experience and knowledge required to implement and maintain a Quality Control Program * Demonstrate the ability to work in a highly visible location incorporating site safety and safety of the public Interested firms shall provide a letter from their bonding company to confirm their bonding capacity. Responses shall be 5 pages or fewer and be specific in providing the requested information as it relates to the requirement described in this announcement. Submissions shall contain the firm name, address, point(s) of contact with contact information (voice and email); DUNS number, the size and socioeconomic classification under the designated NAICS code. Firms should be registered and certified (as applicable) in the System for Award Management at www.sam.gov. Responses are do not later than the date/time specified in the announcement.
