- Description
- This is a SYNOPSIS of a proposed contract action. General Description of Services Required: The Contractor shall provide all management, tools, supplies, containers, equipment, labor, transportation and applicable licenses and permits necessary to ensure that removal and disposal services of Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) are performed at VISN 12 Northern Tier Veterans Hospitals, and associated CBOCs, in accordance with the Specifications and the Conformance Standards. RMW includes but is not limited to items contaminated with blood and body fluids/waste, chemotherapy wastes, sharps, pathological and microbiological waste or other potentially infectious materials. All identified waste shall be completely removed. Any spills occurring during the removal process by the Contractor shall be contained and complete clean up shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. The Contractor shall use approved hauling routes as defined by the COR to prevent interference with facility operations. All waste hauled by the Contractor shall be contained, or enclosed to prevent leaking or spilling. All disposal and/or destruction shall occur off the facility. Potential offerors are invited to provide information via e-mail to jaclyn.alverson@va.gov. All responses will be used to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy and whether or not a small business set aside shall be utilized for a potential future acquisition. If your company is capable of providing the services required, please send an email to Jaclyn.Alverson@va.gov by Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 12:00 PM CST. Responses should include: (1) Business Name and Address; (2) Point of Contact Name, Phone Number, and E-mail Address; (3) DUNS and NAICS code; (4)Business Size SMALL or LARGE; (5) Type of Business: SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED, VETERAN OWNED, 8A, HUBZone, WOMEN-OWNED, etc. All businesses eligible to provide this service are encouraged to reply, as this information shall be used to determine potential set-asides for the above noted service. This is NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTE or an announcement of a solicitation. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. No formal solicitation document exists at this time, and no contract will be awarded from this announcement.
